Client-Therapist Confidentiality

Confidentiality is the cornerstone of ethical psychological practice. As a counseling psychologist, I am bound by the ethical guidelines of relevant body to maintain the confidentiality.

 

Your session content, personal disclosures, and therapeutic records are strictly confidential and will not be shared with anyone except under the following circumstances:

Mandatory Exceptions
   •    When there is clear and imminent risk of harm to yourself or others
   •    If a minor, elderly, or dependent adult is at risk of abuse or neglect
   •    When ordered by a court of law
   •    As otherwise required by applicable laws

With Your Written Consent
   •    To share information with another medical professional or therapist
   •    For issuing letters/reports for third parties (e.g., schools, employers)

Data Security

We employ industry-standard security protocols to protect your data, including:

 

  • Encrypted storage of digital records

  • Password-protected access to client files

  • Secure online video platforms for teletherapy (end-to-end encryption)

  • Regular backups and cybersecurity audits

Third-Party Services

We may use third-party tools for appointment scheduling, email communications, or online payments. These providers are required to comply with data privacy standards and only receive the minimal data needed to perform their function.
